Elms College will hold its 88th commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 18, 2019, at the MassMutual Center, Springfield. Academic Procession begins at 9:30 a.m. Ceremonies begin promptly at 10 a.m.

Graduates and their families are invited to share their social media photos using the hashtag #Elms2019. Be sure to follow @elmscollege on Instagram and Twitter, and check our Facebook page for photos taken by Elms staff.

Important Notices

All financial obligations must be met no later than Friday, March 22. Outstanding balances beyond this date will result in a hold on your application for graduation, preventing your diploma from being conferred.

Institutional Surveys

In April, you will receive an email to your Elms email account inviting you to participate in the National Survey of Student Engagement, which helps us assess our programs. Students that complete the survey will be entered into a drawing to win an Amazon Echo Spot or one of five $20 Amazon e-gift cards!

During finals week, you will also be invited to participate in the Outcomes Survey, which allows us to gather information related to your employment plans after commencement. A free Aramark (Starbucks) iced coffee/tea voucher will be given to the first 150 students to complete the Outcomes Survey on campus in Career Services.

Graduation Gowns, Caps, and Hoods

Graduation gowns, caps, and hoods are ordered and picked up in the bookstore. If you have not already done so, please order your gown immediately. Extended bookstore hours include Friday, May 3, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Saturday, May 11, 12-4 p.m. and Friday, May 17, 9 a.m.-6 p.m.

Honor Cords

Honor cords are given to undergraduate students who will graduate with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher. Honor cords will be available in the Registrar’s Office Tuesday, May 14 through Friday, May 17, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Cords will also be available at the MassMutual Center prior to commencement lineup.
